Lingate advises GMI in sale to Prestige Global Meeting Source

Prestige Global Meeting Source (Prestige) announced that they acquired Minneapolis-based Groups Meetings Incentives Inc. (GMI), a 35 year-old meeting management and incentive travel management company. This is a strategic move for Minneapolis-based Prestige as they expand their service offerings to include full service event management and on-site operation.

“Prestige has experienced phenomenal growth in the past few years. With 43 sales partners across the US and Canada that have traditionally focused on site selection, adding meetings management and event services through the acquisition of GMI is the logical next step in our company’s growth,” commented James St. Peter, Vice President of Sales. “We have worked with the team at GMI for many years and have always admired their approach to meetings management and how they service our shared clients.” The entire full-time staff of GMI will transition to the event services department at Prestige, an imperative detail of the acquisition.
